Fantasy/Nocturne was written as a type of homage to Chopin. I
have looked at some of his work through a series of filters, some
more distorted than others. The idea for this was suggested by
the work's commissioner, pianist Corey Hamm. The commission was
made possible with financial assistance from the Canada Council.
